Blessing of St. Swithun’s Icon Sunday 4th July 2021

The St. Swithun’s Icon, kindly gifted to the Church by John Coleman, was blessed during the service held on Sunday 4th July 2021.

John’s brother Terry, who lives in Bicker, attended the Coffee Morning on Saturday to proudly display the Icon and also presented it to Rev. Sue Hentley at the service held on Sunday.

John is an official and renowned Church of England Iconographer. His work has been gifted and blessed at important sites such as York Minster and Bury St. Edmunds Cathedral, his home town. John uses traditional methods to create his Icons using gold leaf and egg yolk tempura.

The PCC, Friend’s of St. Swithun’s and Bicker Community would like to thank John and his brother Terry for their contribution.
