Icon of St. Swithun gifted to the Church

Icon of St. Swithun donated as a gift to the Church

This fantastic and beautifully authentic St. Swithun’s Icon has been specially handcrafted using traditional methods (including gold leaf and egg yolk tempura) by expert Iconographer John Coleman, who is the brother of Terry Coleman of Bicker.

John, who is a very well renowned Iconographer, has other works in very prestigious places such as York Minster and Bury St. Edmunds!

This Icon has been very kindly gifted to St. Swithun’s Church by the Coleman family, John, Terry, wife Edwina and daughter Lizzy. What an amazing creation for us to have in the Church to be displayed and preserved for ever more.
